Morningstar, feeling bored, decided to go out for a little hunt. There was nothing to do on this lazy, hot day, and most of the cats were either sharing tongues or sleeping. A couple of the apprentices were out training with their mentors, and the kits were playing by the fresh-kill pile. Silverleaf was in her den, sorting out the herbs and muttering to herself.
Over at the apprentice den, she spotted Cherrypaw, a young white she-cat with light blue eyes and long, silky fur. She was grooming herself, taking special care around the scar which she had obtained when FireClan invaded. That was many moons ago, but her injuries still had a dull pain to them.
Morningstar lazily padded over to her. Cherrypaw looked up and purred a welcome. "What brings you to the apprentice den, Morningstar?" she meowed calmly.
"Well, Cherrypaw, I thought you might want to go hunting with me." Cherrypaw was Morningstar's favourite apprentice, next to Cinderpaw, of course. (( ))
Cherrypaw enthusiastically agreed. Together they set off to find a good hunting spot.
After they had caught some prey, Cherrypaw and Morningstar prepared themselves to go back. Cherrypaw opened her mouth one last time to check if there was any more prey. Instead of the sweet mouse scent she had expected, the bitter smell of fox hit her instead.
"Morningstar," she urged. "I smell a fox."
Morningstar dropped her prey on tje ground and scented the air. Sure enough, the horrible smell was there. Yuck!
((I can't think of anything else to put on here...help me out! Anybody can be Cherrypaw, just reply to this and pretend to be her...))
