Graymist sat tensely, waiting for Dappledstar's words to echo out across the clearing. He flexed his claws, as if getting ready for a battle. Pebblespots sat beside him, his orange pelt glimmering softly in the dull light.
The warm sun that was shining down upon them had been covered up by a thick cloud. The air smelled fresh and crackly, the way it would before a storm. As Graymist looked up at the darkening sky expectantly, a fat raindrop plopped on his nose. He jumped up in surprise and spat at the droplet of water. "Mouse dung!" he mewed.
"What's wrong?" Pebblespots asked. His large eyes set inside a small face gave him a cute, defenseless look, which he hated. But Pebblespots was much stronger.
Looks can be decieving.
((Not finished. Made it up while waiting for Saby to post. Will finish soon.))
